As we all know, Covid-19 restrictions are thankfully easing. This means people in Calderdale can leave their homes, seek support from an additional household and reach out to family and friends for help once again.
With this in mind, Newground Together are working in partnership with Christian's Together Calderdale to bring their CTC Ebenezer Foodbank Service to a manageable level once again whilst continuing to support vulnerable people and families living in food poverty.
This transition of service has been eased by the appointment of a new Foodbank Coordinator, Pam Spring who started with Christians Together Calderdale last week – Welcome on board Pam!

What does this mean?
The last date of Food parcel deliveries for vulnerable adults and families will be Friday 3rd July. Every client that has been in receipt of a parcel over the course of the covid-19 response service has been notified by phone and letter. This has included in-depth conversations regarding their basic health needs (where appropriate) with referrals being made to specialist provision.
Each client we have supported will also receive a final notice of the changes in this week's food parcel – see attached.
This does not mean the offer of support ends here. There will be an alternative service for Families (90% of deliveries) to access the Foodbank safely along with the long-standing Saturday drop-in service.
New Service: (details attached)
From Week Commencing 6th July The CTC Ebeneezer Foodbank will operate twice a week.
Friday's from 10 – 12pm (starting 10th July) – Family Foodbank : This will allow families to pick up a food parcel safely on a weekly basis where required.
Saturday's from 10-12pm (ongoing) – regular Foodbank drop-in: For adults with no children to access food parcels.
Other changes will be made including the size and content of the current food parcel. A lot of thought is going into the nutritional value, number of days to feed an individual and practical meal plans. Information on this along with facts, figures and photos celebrating the achievements of the covid-19 response service will follow.
On behalf of my team at Newground Together and Christians Together Calderdale we thank you for your support. This has been an invaluable learning curve for us all and we commit to supporting the sector in tackling food poverty once again, should we hit a second spike of the C-19 pandemic.
Should you require any further information at this stage, please get in touch.
