On Wednesday 18 December, the Boys' Brigade and Girls' Brigade held a community carol service at Boothtown & Southowram Methodist Church! Almost 140 people filled our church to capacity!
It was fantastic to see everyone getting together! Some Boys' Brigade lads did Bible readings, and also helped Revd Tony with his candyfloss talk, together with the 2 choirs (Boothtown Community Choir and St Bernard's Catholic Church).
We were joined by The Flying Dutchman pub from Boothtown. In October they organised a community fundraiser and managed to raise an amazing £1,300, of which £450 is towards future upkeep of the defibrillator on our wall; £500 for an emergency bleed kit which is installed outside the pub and the remainder was donated to a children's charity for Christmas gifts!
A collection was taken after the carol service for Action for Children.
