What a wonderful morning on September 29th when we celebrated the 20th Anniversary of the Good as New. Where have those 20 years gone? In one way they have flown by, in another way, by looking at the photos of the opening cutting of the red ribbon, well they say the camera never lies, we looked so young.

Before 2004 we had used the former caretakers flat, where the prayer room, boiler room and gents and disabled toilets are now.

It was fascinating looking at the cash book for Wednesdays September 04 to August 05. 28 signatures were decipherable. Of those 17 have sadly died, 4 are no longer able to help for various reasons, 3 still help on a Wednesday, 4 on a Monday with 2 of those helping both Mondays and Wednesdays.

But back to 2024!

Never have we seen the Good as New so busy. It was so happy, so friendly, so full of memories, so full of chatter and of course so full of bargains at £1 per item.ver in the hall it was equally very happy, very friendly, chatter and reminisces in abundance as everyone enjoyed their cuppa and cake.

A huge thank you to all who helped in any way, the bakers, the refreshment team, the publicity team, the sales assistants, the furniture movers and all who came.
