Nick Biggar

Hi there, my name is Nick, and I've recently moved to Calderdale with my family. I have the privilege of serving as Superintendent in the Calderdale Methodist Circuit. Currently I'm on a voyage of discovery, just finding out how truly beautiful and diverse this area of the country is, so if you have any suggestions for places to visit and things to see, please let me know? Everyone I have encountered has been warm and welcoming, kind and lovely, so I'm finding living here with you a complete joy, as is the rest of my family.

I was born and raised near Stockport and married a Yorkshire lass. I've served the Methodist Church in West Yorkshire for the last five years, before moving here. My background before ministry was working in the IT industry, where, over the years, I undertook many different roles from Computer Programmer to Program Manager, supporting a variety of businesses through the various stages of their IT transformation. During this period, I remember thinking to myself that my life was sorted and I was doing well. That's what I believed, until one day, quite unexpectedly, I encountered Jesus, and to put it succinctly, discovering Jesus changed my life for the better! This was such a wonderful experience, I felt compelled to share this good news with others, because the invitation is open to everyone. In a nutshell, this is how I find myself in Calderdale today.

The Mission Statement of our Circuit is: 'Seeing what God is doing in Calderdale, and joining in.' and it's wonderful to be part of such a liberating experience. This is no 'hard sell', but if you are interested in discovering more about a loving God, it would be wonderful to have a chat over a 'cuppa' sometime.
